The days of brass pipes and fittings are over as these traditional fittings were not flexible, cost-effective, or capable of withholding a solid connection. RV manufacturers have since used PEX and gray “quest” tubing, copper crimp rings, and plastic inserts fittings. These materials are more cost-effective and flexible than the previous brass fittings, but the connections can still be spotty at times. The crimps are challenging to tighten accurately; an under-tightened crimp will not seal properly, and an over-tightened crimp can crack the plastic inserts. Installation requires the proper tools, or you risk an incomplete connection. Flair-It fittings provide a simple solution to these problems.
Utilizing tighten-to-compress technology, these fittings can be tightened to the perfect seal by hand. No tools are required, not even plumber’s tape. We offer an installation wrench for this product; though not necessary, it can take some stress off your hands. Flair-it fittings feature a flared end that inserts into the tube and a screw cap to create the connection. The flair-it fitting bond can withstand up to 90 pounds of pressure. Due to the material nature of this product, please do not use lubrication of any type for installation or maintenance purposes. This fitting is compatible with both the PEX tubing and gray tubing, so you will not need to worry about multiple sizes of fittings.
